Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School (“Heschel") values and respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy governs Heschel's website data collection and use via www.heschel.com. This Policy is intended to help users understand what information we collect, why we collect it, with whom it is shared, and how you can update, manage, and delete your information.  This Policy is designed to comply with all applicable legal requirements.  

By using the Heschel website, a user is deemed to have consented to the practices described in this policy.
 
Personally Identifiable Information
The California Business and Professions Code defines “Personally Identifiable Information” as details collected on the Internet about an individual consumer, and includes an individual’s first and last name, a physical street address, an email address, a telephone number, a Social Security number, or any other information that permits a specific individual to be contacted physically or online.  

Collection of Information 
Heschel may collect the following categories of Personally Identifiable Information from users who visit its website: 1) an individual’s first and last name; 2) a physical street address; 3) an email address; 4) a telephone number; and 5) a Social Security Number. 

Heschel may also collect non-Personally Identifiable Information during use of its website in order to analyze how visitors use the site. Heschel does not track its users over time or across third party websites, and therefore does not respond to Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals.  However, some third party websites do keep track of users’ browsing history when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. Third parties that have content on Heschel’s website may set cookies on a user’s browser and/or obtain information about the fact that a web browser visited a specific Heschel website from a certain IP address, third parties cannot collect any other Personally Identifiable Information from Heschel’s website unless users provide it to them directly.   

Most web browsers allow the user to set the DNT signal so that third parties know that the user does not want to be tracked.  

Heschel will not store users’ credit card information after the completion of a sale.

Storage and Use of Information
Heschel keeps all information, including any Personally Identifiable Information, that it collects from users confidential. Heschel stores Personally Identifiable Information on a secure server.

Heschel may use information that it collects, including Personally Identifiable Information, in order to maintain and improve our services, develop new services, provide personalized services, measure performance and communicate with our users.  Heschel provides users the opportunity to opt out of any communications.

Sharing Information
Heschel does not provide users’ information to outside parties except in the following cases:

With the User’s Consent 
Heschel does not provide third parties users’ information, including Personally Identifiable Information, without the user’s express permission. As such, Heschel will not trade, sell, rent, lease, share, or otherwise provide access to its users’ information unless the user expressly consents to share such information. Further, Heschel will only share such information with third party service providers working on Heschel’s behalf.  

Heschel prohibits third parties from collecting Personally Identifiable Information over time and across different websites when a user uses this website.

Heschel’s website may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that Heschel is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such sites. Heschel encourages users to learn about the privacy practices and policies of those companies.

For Legal Reasons
Heschel may disclose users’ personal information, if required to do so by law, to protect and defend its rights or property, or in urgent circumstances, such as, but not limited to, those that involve the need to protect an individual’s personal safety, or the protection of the public.

Use of Cookies
Some pages on this site may use “cookies”—small files that the website places on a user’s hard drive for identification purposes. A cookie file may contain information such as a user ID to track the pages visited, but the only personal information a cookie can contain is information supplied by the user. Cookies are used for site registration and to customize visits to a site. The cookie may notify the web server when a user returns to a specific page on a website, and may customize a site’s features for the user. Cookies cannot read information from a user’s hard drive, and will not run programs or deliver viruses to the user’s computer.

Protecting the Privacy of Children
Children under 13 years old are not the target audience for our web site. To protect their privacy, Heschel prohibits the solicitation of personal information, including Personally Identifiable Information, from these children.
 
On-Line and Off-Line Security
Heschel strives to protect users’ personal information. However, we urge all users to take every precaution to protect their personal data when they are on the Internet.

This website takes reasonable precautions to protect users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and offline. In addition to using encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also protect user information offline, and store information in a secure environment in our offices.
