Community
Heschel's philosophy emphasizes working in close partnership with our families. Our community is the heart of our school and we believe the key to success lies in a strong relationship between students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Heschel’s active Parent Organization, comprised of every current parent in our school, is responsible for community building events, some of which include the Challah Bake, Family Bingo Night, Mitzvah Day, Boutique, Family Shabbaton Retreat, Purim Carnival, Parent Nights Out, and the Recipe Exchange. As a school, we do our best to provide opportunities that accommodate a variety of familial structures and parent schedules. From chaperoning field-trips to Parent Organization Board opportunities to serving on the Board of Directors and/or Board committees, our parent body is provided with a wide variety of opportunities to become involved. Serving hot lunch, stuffing Gala invitations, volunteering at the Purim Carnival, are just a few of the volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Working parents aid in the preparation of materials at home, provide special assistance at holiday celebrations, and work on Parent Organization committees. No matter what time commitment you are able to give, we are grateful to our volunteers who sustain our extensive community events and programs.
