Arts

"Build your life as if it was a work of art. "
–Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel

The visual and performing arts are an integral part of Heschel's curriculum. Starting in transitional kindergarten and continuing through the 8th grade, students are involved in a wide range of classes in the visual and performing arts that interweave skill development, creative thinking, and understanding of the historical and cultural context of the arts. The arts are also incorporated into the Judaic Studies program and are used to make traditions and holidays come alive in creative and multidimensional ways throughout the grades.

Our Middle School musical theater program plays a big role in our performing arts department. Students may participate as actors, choreographers, costume designers, and production staff. The video below takes you into the set design exploratory which supports each musical theater production.
