Back to Heschel Experience

Student Leadership > Committees

Heschel Middle School students have many opportunities to become actively involved in life at Heschel through participation on a school committee.  Committees perform important services for the school, and provide input in making school-wide decisions. Committees generally convene with their faculty sponsor weekly during lunch, office hours, or Exploratory times. Frequently, the students themselves initiate a committee.

The Student Representatives Committee members are our school’s ambassadors to parents and guests. Members volunteer for this important role in communicating our mission. Students learn about how to conduct tours, explain the Mission Statement, and respond to questions through role playing. These enthusiastic students host tours, Back to School Night, Mitzvah Day, Open Houses, and other school activities.

If you would like to schedule a private tour, please contact Lara Martin at x510.

Middle School English Teacher, Debra Schaffer was awarded the Milken Jewish Educator Award for 2008.
