LA/Tel Aviv Partnership
The Jewish Federation's Tel Aviv/Los Angeles Partnership fosters and creates relationships and dialogue between the citizens and institutions of Tel Aviv and Los Angeles for the benefit of both communities. Though separated by 9,000 miles, the two cities have many things in common: Both are costal cities; both are home to large, ethnically diverse populations; and both are centers of business and culture in their regions. Initiated in 1997, The Partnership, embodies a widespread scope focusing on the areas of Education, Health and Human Services, Economic Initiatives, and Culture, and is governmentally recognized by The Honorable Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles (http://www.ci.la.ca.us/) and The Honorable Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo (Hebrew site: http://www.tel-aviv.gov.il/, English site: www.tel-aviv.gov.il/english/home.asp), serve as the Partnership's honorary Co-Chairs.
The 2006 Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School 8th grade Israel delegation is composed of twenty four students, seven parent chaperones and three faculty members. To learn more about our trip in the fall of 2006, visit our trip blog at http://www.ajhdsisraeltrip.blogspot.com.
