Application Process

It all starts with a visit…
There are a number of ways for you and your family to get to know Heschel’s program, campus, and community. We invite you to attend one of our Prospective Parent Open Houses. These visits offer a firsthand opportunity to observe the program in action, to become acquainted with Heschel’s basic educational philosophy and curriculum, and to meet our administrators, faculty, and students. Individual tours are also available, please contact the Admission Office to schedule your visit. For security reasons, we ask you to call or email us to schedule your visit in advance.

Application Materials/Testing
Once you have visited our campus, the next step is to submit an application with a non-refundable $125.00 application fee by February 4, 2008. Students applying for grades 6-8 also need to complete the Student Questionnaire and submit it along with their completed application by the February deadline.

Sixth through eighth grade applicants need to register for the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) listing Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School as a score recipient. The ISEE may be waived if an applicant submits his/her ERB (Educational Records Bureau) independent school scores for two consecutive years prior to application, along with a writing sample to be taken at the time of the student’s interview. Screening and Interview
Once we have received your completed application, you will be contacted to schedule a visit and interview.
