The Heschel Fund
We are fortunate to have a committed and generous community that strongly supports our school. 100% of our staff and faculty and our Board of Directors participated last year in our Heschel Fund campaign; 83% of parents participated, a number that we are certain will improve this year and in the future. The most important gift every family can make each year is to the Heschel Fund.
Donors of $2,500 and above are invited to our donor recognition event.
The Heschel Fund represents more than 6% of our operating budget, which means that your support is critical in helping us achieve our objective of providing the highest quality education for your child. We rely on parent and alumni volunteers to help us keep our fundraising costs low so that the maximum dollars go to pay for education.
New this yearEvery gift counts: 100% of the money raised through the Heschel Fund goes directly to support operating costs of the school. Beginning this year...you have two options: You may make your gift to the current operating budget as you have in the past or your gift to the Heschel Fund can be designated to one or more of the following areas:
|
Technology |
Judaic Studies |
| Israel Education | Professional Development |
| Current Operations | Visual & Performing Arts |
Parent participation in the Heschel Fund is vital to the school in many ways:
The school is often evaluated by outside funding sources, including foundations and corporations that are potential donors. They look at the parent participation level in terms of percentages and dollars when they make a decision to fund Heschel.
Parent giving helps us leverage other gifts, such as corporate matching gifts. If a parent works for a company that will match a gift, often that company will match the gift by 2 to 3 times.
The school is evaluated by outside accrediting bodies, such as CAIS (California Association of Independent Schools) and WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). Once again, parent participation indicates that our community is actively involved in the success of our school.
